Common Orthodontic Problems

Malocclusions:
Imperfect positioning of the teeth when the jaws are closed.


Underbite – Lower teeth sit in front of the upper teeth.

Spacing – Space between the upper two front teeth.

Protrusion/Overjet – Upper teeth extend too far forward.

Openbite – Upper and lower front teeth do not meet; only the back teeth touch.

Deep Overbite – The upper front teeth completely cover the lower teeth.

Midlines – (a middle line) The bite does not line up properly.

Crowding - There is not enough space to align teeth.

Crossbite - The upper teeth sit inside the lower teeth.
